God Emperor Trump

It is no secret that I’ve supported the Republican nominee for President: But some people take it a bit too far. This week I was at a rally in Los Angeles for Travis Allen, who is running for Governor of California. There after the rally a lady was going around saying that everyone should read a certain book. Naturally, because of the way I am, I ask why? The interaction went like this:

You should read this book!

Why? What is it about?

Its about the End Times; how God has put our President in place for this time to clear out the New World Order!

I agree that our President was put in there by God (he had the Media, the GOP, so many mistakes all against him) but  I don’t think he is in there to clear out the New World Order.

The President is there to clear out the New World Order.

There is only One person who will clear out the New World Order and His name is Jesus Christ. We need the New World Order in there so that Christ can conquer them.

You need to read this book and think with your heart not with your head so much.

It was at this moment that she tries to back away and pretend like she will buy a Campaign T-Shirt. But now i’m excited and continue talking…

The Bible says that if they speak not according to this word, there is no light in them.

You have to Trust Your Heart. If you look at the pictures of Jesus it never says anything about the Book, it always shows pictures of Jesus and the Heart.

No you should not Trust Your Heart. The Bible says that the Heart is deceitful and desperately wicked! You need to Trust the Scriptures.

What Scriptures did Jesus have when He was here? He had none! It’s not about a book it’s about Love.

Jesus had the Old Testament. The Bible talks about the Law and the Prophets, they all testify to Him.

At this point she flys away to her husband. There is a good forty something people in about a 10 foot area around me so it is very packed.

I’m super interested in the End-Time or Eschatology and I’m a bit active in trying  to make this world a better place; so i’m interested and will hear out many theories. Of all the things I have read and observed, the wisdom about what will happen at the end of time is to be sourced from God. The Bible has a certain sequence of events lined up for History:

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.  (Daniel 2:44)

There are people that think by electing a certain person or party, the Biblical narrative can somehow be changed. God will crack open the sky and light lightening everyone will see Him. He will come and destroy all other Kingdoms and His only will stand. There will be no orderly transition of power but a sudden break and shift. The order will be made new.

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
(Matthew 24:26-27)

With the proliferation of Fake News and the extraordinary amount of Biblical Illiteracy out there, it is becoming ever easier for me to imagine many  people falling for the deception described here. People will read on Facebook how Jesus is in Death Valley or deep inside the Vatican and people will believe it and drive or fly out there.  The Lady was willing to cast aside the Word of God (which she believed to be the Bible) in order to justify her assumption that the Heart (or what you feel) was the superior rule of faith in the life of a Christian. This ties in with studies which show that 20% of people who go to Church never read their Bibles. While I agree that God will use the most powerful person in the world  however He sees fit, we should not ascribe to that person the Trust and Confidence that we should have only in Jesus Christ. I’m not a big fan of Trusting Your Heart due to what the Bible says about it:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
(Jeremiah 17:9)

Trusting our feelings seems like a bad way to live. Because our feelings are so flakey, they don’t seem like a good barometer of what is right or wrong.  I can feel joyous one minute and worried and sad the next. There are plenty of songs out there talking about the heart and the ways it can screw up a life. A better way is to start with the Word of God and have some solid principles in which to base your decision making from and move from there.

In our darkest hours and deepest valleys, we need to be able to fear no Evil; for we should know based on experience that the Love of God changes everything.

Can Laws, Administrations, Princes and Rulers affect us and how we live? You bet! Is it important to be able to do work to get the right people in office? Absolutely! Even though it is good to do these things, we should not put our total confidence in humans and what they can do for us:

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. – Psalm 20:7

You go online and there are many people (on reddit) claiming that the current president to be the “God Emperor”, such talk makes me sick. Our God is Jealous and Exclusive.  I personally don’t know any of these people but it is a sign that they have put too much confidence in a person. People will certainly let you down, and when you’re that attached to someone you have to explain away anything they do and shift and change your morals because the cost is too high. But God, who alone is Good, will never let you down and will always lift you up.

Trusting in God, not Presidents, not Parties, not Laws, not Friends, not Your Heart — but God via the Promises of Scripture takes time and a relationship but Faithful is the One who is Writing the story of your Faith.

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removes kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
(Daniel  2:20-22)
